Pair<br /><br /> DESCRIPTION: A nice little pair of ivory elephants, both with raised trunks and lumbering gate. Nice patina with age lines but no cracks. These date from the Republic Period, 1911 - 1949; good condition. DIMENSIONS: Largest 2 ¼” wide (5.5 cm) x 2 3/8 “ high (3 cm). <p>NOTE: Ancient East specializes in pre-1945 Asian art and antiques (generally corresponding to the end of WWII, the Republic of China period, and Japan's Showa Period). Carved works of art are composed of various materials, some including elephant ivory or other endangered species. We support the goal of eliminating the on-going criminal poaching of endangered animals.
